F.J. Whiting

F J Whiting was formed in Cottingham in the late 1800s by the Whiting family. When Peter Whiting retired in 1987, he sold the business and premises in Hallgate to Marsden Builders Limited. This enabled the Marsden family, well known in the area for house building, to add a contracting and property repair division to their business.

Today, F J Whiting Limited remains in Hallgate, Cottingham, headed by the fourth generation of the Marsdens, Jeremy, Johns’ son. It remains a small, local, family business, predominantly undertaking contracts for private individuals, businesses and other organisations within the Yorkshire area.

We pride ourselves on the quality of our building works and, under the personal supervision of Jeremy, our high levels of customer service. We employ local time-served tradesmen who have all been with the company for many years.
